By joining this Early Access program, you will have the opportunity to
evaluate the new capabilities of Sun Studio software including:
* Next-generation IDE based on NetBeans 5.5.1 software
* Improved binary application performance for all platforms- SPARC and
x86/x64
* Comprehensive support for the Linux OS, including C, C++, Fortran
compilers and tools
* Ability to debug (dbx) higher levels of optimized code
* Increased GCC compatibility
* Thread Analyzer -- a new tool for dynamic detection of common
multi-threading errors.
For those involved with the Sun Studio Express program, the _same_
download will be available as Sun Studio Express February 2007. However,
as an Early Access participant, you will have access to direct support
options as well as have the ability to provide formal feedback on
features and quality. This feedback will be used to assess readiness for
the release as well as drive the future product roadmap.
In addition, our EA program has specific feedback goals, including:
Solaris on SPARC platforms (including Fujitsu OPL and Niagara 2)
Solaris on x86/x64
Linux on x86/x64
Current gcc/g++ users
Cross-platform (Linux, Solaris) development
