I did also this mod to my TS850. A great radio with no RX but with this mod you have a superb radio for the money.
Another option is the DXPedition II box from KD9SV http://www.radio-ware.com/products/svdxii.htm. It give RX connectivity for radios with no RX input, and also provide switch for up to 4 RX antennas and many other protection/features. I have one and really I am very happy with this product. Now I have a radio with RX input but still use the DXP II to switch the beverages and to give extra protection to the setup. 73, Jorge CX6VM/CW5W -----Mensaje original----- De: topband-boun...@contesting.com [mailto:topband-boun...@contesting.com] En nombre de Jim Brown Enviado el: MiƩrcoles, 07 de Septiembre de 2011 01:07 a.m. Para: topband@contesting.com; Michael G. For most serious 160M operators, that is NOT a given. Either we find a rig that has a separate input for an RX antenna, or we modify the rig to add one. N6TR published a nice applications note quite a few years ago showing how to do this for a popular rig at the time, a TS850. I did that mod to two TS850s that I owned. It took about an hour. Google to find it. 73, Jim K9YC _______________________________________________ UR RST IS ... ... ..9 QSB QSB - hw?
