I did also this mod to my TS850. A great radio with no RX but with this mod
you have a superb radio for the money.

Another option is the DXPedition II box from KD9SV
http://www.radio-ware.com/products/svdxii.htm. It give RX connectivity for
radios with no RX input, and also provide switch for up to 4 RX antennas and
many other protection/features.

I have one and really I am very happy with this product. Now I have a radio
with RX input but still use the DXP II to switch the beverages and to give
extra protection to the setup.

For most serious 160M operators, that is NOT a given. Either we find a 
rig that has a separate input for an RX antenna, or we modify the rig to 
add one.  N6TR published a nice applications note quite a few years ago 
showing how to do this for a popular rig at the time, a TS850.  I did 
that mod to two TS850s that I owned. It took about an hour. Google to 
find it.
