I made a common mode choke for a G5RV-style antenna by stacking four 2.4" OD #31 mix toroids and winding 5 turns of RG-6 through it. It goes on the coax, right near where the open wire line connects to the coax. Worked great! The number of cores and the number of turns depends on what size coax you use. The design came from K9YC's excellent tutorials on choke baluns, etc. at http://audiosystemsgroup.com/publish.htm. You want 31 mix ferrite for 80 and 160. The Mouser part number of the Fair-Rite 31 mix ferrite toroids I used is 623-2631803802. $7 each. 73, Mike www.w0btu.com _______________________________________________ UR RST IS ... ... ..9 QSB QSB - hw?
