He passed away on July 15 at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC after a short stay. He was 93. His daughter had forwarded to me e-mails from TopBand that Bob Briggs VK3ZL had died, and I read the e-mails to Bob Eldridge in his hospital bed. His eyes teared, and he dictated a message which I sent to Jeannie. VE7BS was a regular columnist for The Canadian Amateur Magazine (TCA), the journal of Radio Amateurs of Canada. His column was called "QUA - A Topical Digest" and was one of the most popular features of TCA. Even in Bob's final weeks, he completed his column for the September issue and added a sidebar that this was to be his final column, thanked his readers for their input, and wished them well. The editor of TCA plans a tribute article on Bob later in the year. Bob VE7BS is survived by his daughter, Anne Eldridge, Granddaughter Taomi, and two sisters in England.
