Jo used both horizontally and vertically polarised antennas at different times and I think you will find his experiences very interesting. His blog is written in Indonesian but can be easily translated into other languages, using Google Translate. The blog also contains information about other Indonesian stations who use 160m, who would be able to tell you about their experiences in antennas on the topband.
