Excellent! Good on the Boring ARC for keeping this fine fellows spirit alive in the ether...
Happy to have contributed a tiny amount to help preserve Jack's/ZZ's memory for all. Maybe when you get the website adapted to this new name for this event you could include some of K1ZM's comments as they are quite spot on. dit dit -Mike VE9AA -----------============= The preliminary scores for the recent PreStew / LBJ contest are continuously updated on the Stew web site - www.kkn.net/stew. It seems that activity AND conditions were pretty good around the world and there are some impressive scores. We almost have 300 logs submitted and I would like to encourage anyone who was active to submit their log. This is especially true for those who were running low or QRP power - as the people who worked you will get bonus points if you send in your log confirming the QSO. The new name - LowBand Jack - for this event was inspired by the recent passing of Jack, VE1ZZ, who is a TopBand legend. The October event will now be called the LowBand Jack. Many thanks to all of the people who got on and filled up the band with beautiful sounding CW. Mark your calendars for December 29th for the "Big" Stew. 73 Tree N6TR t...@kkn.net ----------------------------------- p.s.- Tree, If you do make it into its own (real) contest, one thing to think about is probably NOT using "VE1ZZ" in the title. (just in the description on the website) A 2-letter call VE call like that, unless picked up by one of his kids(unlikely), is apt to be reissued very fast, in about 365 days +/- to someone else. Call it "Jack/ZZ", "Nova Scotia Jack" "160m Jack", "LowBand Jack" or something.
