An example from my log for this 2026 CQ160 cw contest.
I was running on what sounded like a clear frequency when OM7M called me. Or so I thought. Turns out, this time, he was working someone just above me. I didn't log that Q. Again he calls me, I thought, but the timing seemed off. Took a long time time for him to reply with his exchange. I logged it just in case. Sometime later (hours not minutes) OM7M calls again. This time everything seems right. His reply with the exchange was snappy with no delay. While that Q will show as a dupe per N1MM+, I am as certain as I can be that this Q was actually correct and the earlier one I logged wasn't. If I hadn't worked him as a dupe it would have been a nice 10 pointer missed. Now, if someone dupes we 4 times (yes, its happened!) I do get annoyed.
