Thanks for your reply Holger. I did wonder if it was some sort of "performance feature" to effectively disable spl:Argument constraint checking. I imagine the SPIN engine does some argument checking anyway - spl:Argument is self-referential and a SPIN engine must have implicit knowledge of spl:Argument.
