Now I get a different error message. It says:
"Failed to load the JNI shared library "C:\Program
Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_03\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll"
...as if the program did not have access to read the file. I checked the
rights on the file / directory and the all users have read, read execute, and
list directory contents rights to everything under the Java directory.
Any ideas?

Two more clarifications please...
1.) The error message complained that it was unable to find the jvm.dll.
Should the line in the eclipse.ini file give the full path and file name to the
jvm.dll file or to the javaw.exe file?
2.) When you say "according to JAVA_PATH" do you mean an environment variable
where I have JAVA_PATH=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_03\jre\bin\? or is that
something in an ini file?
Thanks again for your help. I'll experiment with the possible variations and
if I find the answer I'll update his thread and save you the trouble of
responding.

TOPCASED 5.2 is based on Eclipse and normally try to find the jvm according to
JAVA_PATH.
You can specify your jvm path modifying eclipse.ini file adding this line for
windows (start of the file) :
-vm
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_03\jre\bin\javaw.exe

I just installed Topcased 5.2. When I start it up, by clicking on the
eclipse.exe file, I get an error message saying:
Failed to load the JNI Shared Library: "C:\Program
Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_03\bin\..\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll"
It might be looking for the JVM in the wrong location. I don'k know if the
\..\ is saying that there is more in the path that could not be displayed due
to the constraint
of the dialog box or if that is the actual path being used. If the latter,
this is an odd way to specify the path.
Question is: How can set I the right path? The jvm.dll file is in: C:\Program
Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_03\jre\bin\server. Where does Eclipse get the location of
the jvm.dll
from? Config file? Environment variables? System path?
