Then, not only did the security slider forget which level I set, but Tor no longer remembered whether I wanted to use a bridge or not (every time I restarted, I was presented with the settings screen). Thinking my Firefox install (with NoScript) might be the problem, I also uninstalled Firefox (I had 3 versions installed somehow), restarted and reinstalled Tor a few times, and eventually I got Tor to where I remembers my connection preferences. However, it still does not remember my security slider setting (and the NoScript icon does not show up now). > > Hm. That is weird. Where did you put your freshly downloaded Tor Browser? I put it in Desktop, like normal for WIndows So when Tor browser updated to 7.0.10, I downloaded and installed the update and when Tor opened I got the "what changed in this update" page as normal. However, Tor did not remember that it had showed me the page: every time I restarted, I got that page. But I fixed the problem: I deleted Firefox, deleted the Firefox profile folders in %AppData%/Local and %AppData%/Roaming, removed MalwareBytes anti-exploit beta and anti-ransomware beta, and now Tor saves my settings as normal. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/ticket/24121#comment:5> Tor Bug Tracker & Wiki <https://trac.torproject.org/> The Tor Project: anonymity online
