Comment (by torkit): Soooo, there are two problems on ubuntu. One seems to have been the one this bug described, while the other is pretty mundane: the installed tor .service-file in the distribution does not properly recognize the started tor instance and restarts it after the default timeout of 300sec. Which is weird, because the old tor.service-file did work properly with the provided package on the debian-tor-binary-package, and I just replaced the tor binary with the self-built one from the maintenance-branches. I've replaced it with a better suiting tor.service-file, and maint-0.3.3 worked fine for the past 12h hours. I will recheck the maint-0.3.4-branch now. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/ticket/27813#comment:35> Tor Bug Tracker & Wiki <https://trac.torproject.org/> The Tor Project: anonymity online
