I had the very same problem (Linux raspberrypi 3.6.11+ 474 PREEMPT,
armv6l).
Decided the best option was to build from source
(https://www.torproject.org/docs/debian.html.en#source) - followed
instructions, all worked well, Tor is running nicely now on RPi.
Tor version 0.2.4.15-rc (git-f41c20b344fb7359).
