Unfortunately, some implementations of Google’s ReCAPTCHA doesn’t work well 
with JavaScript (and perhaps cookies) turned off.

I suggest using Disconnect search instead - it’s the default search in the Tor 
Browser 5 series:
https://disconnect.me/search <https://disconnect.me/search>

This issue with ReCAPTCHA also affects sites using CloudFlare, but doesn’t 
affect Tor’s own Trac site.
