Hello from Tunisia and the Arab Bloggers meeting! Please update the guide to remove software that is unsafe - I have been reviewing and auditing UltraSurf - I do not believe it is safe to use and especially it is unsafe for use in places like Syria where people's lives are at risk. JonDo has had to install backdoors for the German police. Of all the software though UltraSurf is absolutely not to be trusted - hacking UltraSurf servers is probably quite easy and in the event that UltraSurf is compromised, full logs of the Syrian users will be available to the attackers. Additionally, I believe that using Internet Explorer is very unsafe regardless of the proxy. Please do not encourage people to use it - Chrome is a much better browser, Tor Browser Bundle is probably the best for the Syrian context. I think it is better to only suggest Tor with bridges or using proxies and Tor with private bridges. Above all, I would really suggest that users should use only Free Software - OR - they should use standard VPN software that does not require non-free software installed on the system at all. All the best, Jacob I don't know anything about ExpatShield, ProXPN, vpntool, CyberGhost _______________________________________________ tor-translation mailing list [email protected] https://lists.torproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tor-translation
