If you do that with this awsome software (Beyond Compare), it will launch a direct comparison if only one file is modified, or it will launch the BC folder comparison if several files are modified and this is great because the two folders only contains the modification. However I would like to suggest that the double click on a changeset in the log window launch by default a visual diff with the parent changeset! Because for now, what I have to do is: 1 Select first changeset from revision pane 2 Scroll down the list by following the correct line (using the color to avoid loosing it) until I found the parent (and sometimes the scroll is very long) 3 right click on this parent changeset 4 Select "visual diff with selected" The operation 2 is a bit painful and in fact it is always what you want to do: most of the time you only want to compare the modification that were made in the changeset, so that means you want to compare with the immediate parent. If you compare with the previous commit you also see all the changes that were made between this changeset and its parent. So in fact I would recommand to add the item "visual diff with parent" in the right click context menu and choose this item as the default one (so display it in bold). At least if you only add this item in the context menu, it will save me the scrolling work following the line with the chance of loosing it.
