Disabling the "Protection of buffer overflow" (I hope the translation from italian is right) the problems, mouse cursor and icons, disappear; enabling the problems appear again. This is not a problem of THG so I set the issue to resolved. May be a problem of GTK or McAfee. Must be verified with a more recent SO with McAfee installed.
