  Sounds more like a file sharing bug in Win 7, as we don't do anything magic 
when accessing\\
files on a network share. Although it might take a very long time when the 
share\\
is not responding.

You can try disable the overlay icons for network shares: Right-click the 
Mercurial icon\\
in the taskbar (on the far right) and select "Options..." from the context 
menu.\\
In the dialog window (titled "TortoiseHg Taskbar") checkmark "Local disks 
only"\\
(in tab "Options").

This should stop the shell extension from scanning network shares.

"Local disks only" is off by default, meaning the shell extension will scan 
network\\
shares per default.


Changes:
  status: new -> open
  responsible: nothing -> tortoisehg
  component: nothing -> overlays
