Right click on the taskbar and select "Properties" from the context menu to open that dialog (see attachment "taskbar-properties.png"). Then click on the "Customize..." button to open the "Customize Notifications" dialog (see attachment "customize-notifications.png"). There select the "TortoiseHg RPC server" in the left column. This enables the "Behavior" dropdown menu for the rpc server. Then you can choose "Always hide". Added attachment: customize-notifications.png -- This is an issue notification from bitbucket.org.
