Apologies, I shouldn't have hijacked your thread.
I was just too lazy to start a new one :)

As I already have laid out in another message, it is clear
the I am the only one affected.

For occasional contributors, sending changes as patches
to the list is absolutely the right thing.

I fully understand that you don't care about the
workflows for regular contributors.

But for me, its also interesting from a dogfooding
standpoint.
