It would be nice to have something similar to allow both a stable (binary)
and a development (source) version of mercurial and/or tortoisehg.

... and if the source-distribution could be something like an .msi that
searched your system for installed components, tested that they worked, and
downloaded the stuff that you missed -- but I'm dreaming now :-)
