Unfortunately, I've had to take this advice into account sooner than I had hoped.
I've just uploaded TortoiseHg 0.7.2 to SourceForge. The binary is named TortoiseHg-0.7.2-hg-1.2.1.exe http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/stable/wiki/ReleaseNotes Three bug fixes: * the COM server was trying to spawn python.exe each time it was started * empty .hgignore files broke the hgignore filter dialog * the Mercurial.ini backup feature introduced in the 0.7.1 installer was broken TortoisePlink has been updated to a version which does not depend on MSVCR80 libraries, so vcredist_x86.exe has been unbundled. This has worked on all the machines I have tested it on. Let me know if you have any problems with it.
