Yes, especially since we're supplying labels for each file.  You do
not want to label a non-existant third file.  If you look at
contrib/mergetools.ini, you can see that diff3args usually diverges
from diffargs.

Yes.  I sent a patch for the easiest parts (diffargs, labels).  Only
djc commented on it (asking for examples), so I'll probably push it
soon.  I figure one more patch to add $ancestor and diff3args, then a
final patch to make 'hg extdiff' auto-detect a diff tool so extdiff
can be used with zero configuration.
