Putting the commit message into <pre>...</pre> tags has the advantage
that you can copy-paste things like code and stacktraces into your
commit message.

But I can of course understand why you might want to have the text
reflown. My suggestion is to format the text in a markup language such
as Markdown or reStructuredText and then make a small extension which
will run the commit message through the corresponding filter on display
in hgweb.

I do, I have a 30" screen at home and it is exactly because it's so big
that I never maximize my windows. In other words, I keep the lines short
on purpose not because there is no room on my monitor, but because it
looks and reads much better like that.
