I have the same feeling - even though I drew the new icons.
I think it is a general problem with the way icons are produced using SVG
files only. The svg is usually created for usage at 48x48, so simply scaling
them looses contrast. For yellow stuff like the repo-drums this problem is
more severe as the thin edge almost disappears.
