I'm not sure about the modes, unified diff output I think. It happens in commit
and file status dialogs. I've seen it happen with .cs and .txt files.
When I click 'display the file anyway' it highlights all text from the top of
the control to where I clicked.

Slight bug: I have 'maxdiff=60' in my settings file. When I click 'display the
file anyway' in 2.7, it selects a big chunk of the resulting diff.
You mean a lot of the file contents are highlighted? I've not seen that.
Was this diff mode, context mode, or annotate mode?
Also, what type of file was it (curious which file lexer was used).
