Inline reply, albeit largely comments from someone who is doing no TOS infrastructure work, so feel free to weight it accordingly.

It's a win for everyone involved IMO. I'd think that a page like http://fedoraproject.org/sponsors.html that listed the sponsors would be adequate enough recognition. > > - Red Hat has also proposed managing the TeachingOpenSource.org domain. > After considering this, my strong preference is that I will continue to > manage the TeachingOpenSource.org domain registration on behalf of the > community until such time as we form a independent legal entity to > manage it (such as something along the lines of freedesktop.org LLC). > Right now you are the only person listed on the domain (per whois, and I assume it follows that whois is the canonical record) - which makes you a substantial bus/velociraptor target. I'd encourage you to name a second person (and have them listed in the registration records) who can have access to that domain if you haven't already done so. I tend to agree that this should remain under 'community' control. RHT sponsorship is a fine thing and RHT should be commended for so willingly offering time/people/resources/money to education in general and TOS.o specifically, but there's also a point at which too much help hinders rather than aids the growth of a community.
