I suppose the port that the hub is connected to is simply unable to provide enough power for all devices on the hub, or there is a bad USB cable or other hardware problem. Please try the USB device on a different USB port that's connected directly to the computer; if the device has its own power supply, try a different cable, or a different hub to isolate the problem?
