That's sort of a side effect of bug #1437510, if u-s-c was doing the
"dim before blank" rather than having different settings to tweak we
wouldn't have this issue.

what value do you have for the gsettings key "com.ubuntu.touch.system
dim-timeout" if you select one minute? If that's correctly 50 then the
issue is not a settings one...

Bug description:
  When set to two mins or more, the screen dims for 10 secs then goes
  off.

  (I also thought the intended time on dim was 15 secs or more not 10,
  its a bit too quick to react to)
