@Felix, sometimes a "Won't Fix" status being slapped on your bug can come across a little dismissive, just want to let you know that we really do appreciate the report :) In fact, I personally agree with your suggestion to be able to navigate scopes via the dots, its definitely intuitive.
As our UX team has pointed out, we're working on a new design that should make navigating scopes a lot cleaner, so we will have to wait and see how that plays out. Thanks for helping make Ubuntu better! Look forward to seeing some more good suggestions like these. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1522393 Title: [scopes] Request: Allow to navigate to favorite scopes by clicking the dot Status in Ubuntu UX: Won't Fix Status in unity-scopes-shell package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Currently favorite scopes are ordered in a certain way, and indicated by a small dot below the header. In case a scope is activated the dot turns grey. To move from the first scope (e.g. today) to for example the sixth (e.g. twitter) one can a) slight through (1->2->3->4->5->6) which takes 5 actions, and is pretty time consuming, since some scopes load slow b) use the bottom up gesture and look for the scope wanted and click on it. This is much faster and takes only two actions. However the dots, lead the average user to take option a) because the dots indicate a left to right movement to switch scopes. Also by using the b) option, the dots do not make much sense (because it doesn't matter whether you are at the third or fifth place in the favorite list) Suggested Behavior ================ The dots should be clickable as shortlinks to each favorite scope. This would: 1. Speed up the process of switching, may be even in the case that one has to tap twice in order to get the right dot. (may be the margin between the dots could even be a bit bigger) 2. Give the dots an acutal function/meaning (despite to (mis)lead to inefficient left right swipes) --- UX Comment --- We are currently working on the redesign of the dash/scopes navigation and the suggested behaviour does not fit with the project plans. We are testing a prototype of the concept and we’ll share the design specification as soon as it’s available.
