Confirmed that after just connecting a bluetooth mouse, I see the gsettings set to true:
phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~$ gsettings get com.canonical.keyboard.maliit stay-hidden true -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1535833 Title: No way to enter password after connecting Bluetooth mouse Status in The Avila project: New Status in Canonical System Image: New Status in canonical-pocket-desktop: New Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: If you connect just a bluetooth mouse to the pocket desktop build, and then lock the phone, the lock screen will then display a text field to enter your password, but the OSK is suppressed, so there is no way to enter your password and unlock the phone. unity8 should not set the com.canonical.keyboard.maliit stay-hidden gsettings field to true unless a bluetooth keyboard is connected, otherwise you have no way to enter input.
