The behaviour is similar with the "Indirect hybrid sleep" approach, which used to work successfully before upgrading from 13.10 to 14.04. Both suspend-to-RAM and suspend-to-disk (hibernate) work and resume sucessfully, i.e. when removing the file /etc/pm/config.d/00-use- suspend-hybrid.
