No login screen after reboot / reset. Status in lightdm package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: I'm on VMware Workstation 8 and 9. Not tested on physical machine. I'm having this issue since Alpha 1, but I always waited for a fix... till now. The first boot is fine (not always), but when I reboot or reset the VM, the bug appears. The symptoms are random. Sometimes you get a blinking cursor (_), or a lonely [ OK ] in the screen, or "Checking battery state... [ OK ]". Workaround: Login into console (Ctrl+Alt+F1) as root and enter "service lightdm start" twice. Then, the login screen appears.
