Title:
Improve "Your system is running in low-graphics mode"

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
The "Your system is running in low-graphics mode" affects of a lot of
users and can be cause by literally thousand of issues regarding
graphics (query askubuntu.com if interested). That already starts the
list of issues with this particular dialog and the situation Ubuntu
  users are put into:

    * One dialog with the same message for thousands of causes. Something has
to be wrong here. There's a reason for everything, at least in IT, and it can
be communicated - except maybe if the screen isn't plugged in, but that's why
we have IT support. -> be useful explain what's wrong. It doesn't matter if
multiple packages are involved - cooperate! Everything runs in processes and
they have return codes and they can be investigated and interpreted and finally
transformed into useful error messages - every error of any dependency!
    * The sentence "... You will need to configure these yourself" could only
be more rude if there was a middle finger created with characters in cowsay
manner -> be helpful, add a wizard to create the settings (instructions like
http://askubuntu.com/questions/141606/how-to-fix-the-system-is-running-in-low-graphics-mode-error
shouldn't be that hard to be transformed into a script and it'd help thousands
of Ubuntu users which will one day end up with the "low graphics" dialog).
Ubuntu is a desktop OS, not a middle finger OS, I'd even say very, very far
from it, but exaggeration illustrates.
    * The dialog - I've experienced it hundreds of times - is only very rarely
responsive to mouse input -> improve testing and harden this crucial piece of
software.
    * There's not single display manager which provides useful logs - not only
because they all have multiple log files with unintuitive names and don't
explain their relation in the manpage, but also because they're spreading the
messages over files like a water sprinkler (e.g. `lightdm`'s `lightdm.log would
contain the failure of parsing a configuration file and its `x-0.log` contains
the reaction of the process - makes you wonder where else could useful
information be hidden...) -> no idea what to do here since the display manager
can't be rewritten from scratch and are all waiting to work with wayland anyway
