Title: tzdata refers to unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Status in tzdata package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: the code of tzdata contains information regarding a non-existing country, the so called "pridnestrovian moldavian republic" (an illegal political entity that emerged out of a bloody conflict, the conflict being currently still unresolved). This so called "pridnestrovian moldavian republic" is not a member of the UN, and its existence has not been recognized by any world state. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transnistria I think the presence of erroneous information in the code constitutes a bug and should be removed. Bellow is an example of code from the update package that went out for all versions, from Hardy Heron to Precise Pangolin: tzdata (2011n-1) unstable; urgency=critical * New upstream veersion, fixing DST for: - Cuba. - Fidji. - Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. * Set urgency to high as some of the above changes are already effective. etc. To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tzdata/+bug/886480/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
