Public bug reported: When the headphone is connected, the System Settings->Sound shows two outputs "Headphones" and "Speakers. Built-in Audio". Selecting "Speakers. Built-in Audio" just mutes all sound. When disconnecting the headphones, everything works fine though.
A possible solution could be to disallow that option when headphones are connected. I've tried to install "oem-audio-hda-daily- dkms_0.201607020504-ubuntu16.04.1_all.deb" with same results.
