Same on BQ Aquaris E5.

Workaround: Add some code in the beginning of the sms and you will
receive status report by sms; the code will appear in the conversation
window, the recipient won’t see it.

e.G. in Germany put *N# in the beginning (see http://www.sms-guide.de
/sms-sendebericht-jedes-handy-kann-ihn-auch-das-iphone-662.html) - it
works on my phone.

in Ireland it should be *R* (see http://cgarvey.ie/archive/2009/09/22
/getting-sms-delivery-reports-on-your-o2-ireland-iphone/)

It is not an evereyday solution, but sometimes it helps. A "normal"
status report would be much better of course...

Title:
  Can't enable/disable SMS status report

Status in messaging-app package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
GSM specification of SMS-PP allows to enable/disable SMS status
reports in order to get a notification whether outgoing SMS have been
received by the contact or is pending.

So far, there is no way to configure this in my Ubuntu phone (BQ
Aquaris E4.5) and it seems that within message details, there is no
information about the status report (sent, received, pending, etc)

  Seen on:
  Aquaris E4.5
  Ubuntu 15.04
  OTA 11
