I suspect it's not about perl, probably system can be locked same way with any programming language.

Screen does not update when you plug/unplug charger, for example. The only way to quit is to press power button and shut down machine. Expected bahaviour: Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Alt-Del, Ctrl-Alt-F1, mouse, at least something should work. Repsoduced on HP Pavilion 16, SSD with encryption, encrypted Swap. Reproduced by at least one another person with Ubuntu 16.04 with SSD.
