This bug is still in 16.10 present and a systemd problem. Because of this bug Freecad is not able to use 3d mouse. Workaround (in terminal): sudo service spacenavd stop sudo /usr/bin/spacenavd -v -d start freecad
The error message: failed to open X11 display ":0.0" results in the lack of the magellan protocol and freecad needs it.
