Thanks for reporting. Note that the latest version of this package in Ubuntu, 3.8.7-2ubuntu2, contains some Ubuntu-specific patches (based on the version number). Could you comment a bit on whether these patches have been included upstream/in Debian and can be dropped or whether they are still required so the package needs to be merged?
