Public bug reported: Since I am running Trusty on my ThinkPad T60 with Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG I can no longer connect to the 'eduroam' wireless network of University of Potsdam. It again and again asks for user-name and password. Dead certain, there is no spelling mistake. My Nexus 5 connects just fine. It is even more. With Ubuntu 12.04.5 live and earlier I can OOB successfully connect with the 'eduroam' network.
While trying to connect syslog says: wpa_supplicant[2949]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-SSID-REENABLED id=0 ssid="eduroam" wpa_supplicant[2949]: wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 64:d9:89:6d:ce:dd (SSID='eduroam' freq=5320 MHz) kernel: [ 277.639922] wlan0: authenticate with 64:d9:89:6d:ce:dd kernel: [ 277.643045] wlan0: direct probe to 64:d9:89:6d:ce:dd (try 1/3) NetworkManager[2719]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: scanning -> authenticating wpa_supplicant[2949]: wlan0: Trying to associate with 64:d9:89:6d:ce:dd (SSID='eduroam' freq=5320 MHz) kernel: [ 277.844094] wlan0: send auth to 64:d9:89:6d:ce:dd (try 2/3) kernel: [ 277.845687] wlan0: authenticated kernel: [ 277.846031] iwl3945 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling HT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP kernel: [ 277.846040] iwl3945 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling VHT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP kernel: [ 277.853237] wlan0: associate with 64:d9:89:6d:ce:dd (try 1/3) NetworkManager[2719]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: authenticating -> associating wpa_supplicant[2949]: wlan0: Associated with 64:d9:89:6d:ce:dd kernel: [ 277.857918] wlan0: RX AssocResp from 64:d9:89:6d:ce:dd (capab=0x11 status=0 aid=2) kernel: [ 277.859119] wlan0: associated kernel: [ 277.859208] cfg80211: Calling CRDA for country: DE wpa_supplicant[2949]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-EAP-STARTED EAP authentication started NetworkManager[2719]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: associating -> associated kernel: [ 277.865527] cfg80211: Regulatory domain changed to country: DE kernel: [ 277.865533] cfg80211: (start_freq - end_freq @ bandwidth), (max_antenna_gain, max_eirp) kernel: [ 277.865536] cfg80211: (2400000 KHz - 2483500 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm) kernel: [ 277.865539] cfg80211: (5150000 KHz - 5250000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm) kernel: [ 277.865541] cfg80211: (5250000 KHz - 5350000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm) kernel: [ 277.865544] cfg80211: (5470000 KHz - 5725000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (N/A, 2698 mBm) kernel: [ 277.865546] cfg80211: (57240000 KHz - 65880000 KHz @ 2160000 KHz), (N/A, 4000 mBm) NetworkManager[2719]: <warn> Activation (wlan0/wireless): association took too long.
