With the switch to oxide, this has been fixed. There’s one difference
with how e.g. chromium and firefox behave though: the form won’t be
submitted if the required field is empty, but no visual feedback is
provided to the user to let her know that she is expected to fill out
the field.

  2. clicked submit without typing anything into the required input
  3. form was submitted

  What was expected:
  Like in firefox, chrome, chromium I expected a warning to appear and the 
submission prevented
