Public bug reported:

my sounds worked perfect. no issues. when plugging in hdmi cable, i
either had to select hdmi for sound, and or, plug in the hdmi cable then
turn on the laptop while connected to the tv.

after about 5 or 6 times this week, all was fine then, after shutting
down the system (although we did have a few power outages and my batter
doesnt charge so the system shuts straight down) I took the laptop to
the other room as per susual and started kodi, the addon for watching
infowars, and there was no sound. started a video on youtube, no sound.
started a movie on vlc, no sound..

Now when i used to press the volume up and down button on the laptop, it
used to make the noise sound. i mean, even after i lost the sound for
the videos. youd hear the sound up sound down.

I followed an online thing, sudo apt-get purge pulseaudio then i sudo
apt-get install pulseaudio without any luck.

but now it doesnt make the up/down vol sounds

however, when you power on the system, it still makes the drum roll at
the user sign in page.

ive sudo apt-get autoromoved
ive sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade(d) obviously subtract that (d)

idk what this things issue is.

i guess i might reinstall. idk. jsut hate doing that sometimes. might be
time.

anyhow thank you kindly for your time and your patience with all this
nonsense.
