Not sure if this was the correct "corrupted double linked list" issue
but if it is, it was happening under Wayland. Fresh install.

  The Ubuntu Error Tracker has been receiving reports about a problem regarding 
gnome-shell.  This problem was most recently seen with package version 
3.28.1-0ubuntu2, the problem page at
