I have tested this on my Disco development machine, and here's what I
found.

Using an iPhone SE running IOS 12.1.2.

Connected the phone using a real cable (using my third party cable only allowed
me to charge).
Without doing anything further I open Nautilus and browsed to the phone, and
indeed I did see the error described... "unhandled lock down".

However, on the phone itself I was being asked if I wanted to "Trust this
computer". I said "Trust this computer" and was then asked to enter my PIN.
Once I had done this I was able to browse the photos as expected.

Could people reporting this problem please check that the iDevice has
been told to trust the computer and comment here?
