In this days cups-filters, libcupsfilters1, cups-filters-core-driver, cups-browsed and libfontembed1 was upgraded. Since then nothing works anymore, printing per USB don't work anymore too.

Installing a prior version of smb client or cups is not possible, then you have to jump to an prior Ubuntu. In 18.04 it works fine.
