Title:
[TravelMate 5742Z, Realtek ALC272X, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all

Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The sound worked perfectly normally until today.

I feel like it might have something to do with me silencing the
notebook with it's functional keys before turning the machine off the
  last time.
