If computer is booted with headphones unplugged the sound switching works fine. Breaks sometimes following suspend or upon opening certain content such as Flash animations. Unsure exactly what is causing it. Often machine will lock on one or the other output and will play sound correctly through that output but will not switch back and fourth. If fixated on internal speakers there is sound from the speakers and plugging in the headphones does not mute and headphones produce no sound. If fixated on headphones the internal speakers are muted and sound comes through the headphones properly but removing headphones does not unmute speakers. System information gathered when computer is operating properly.
