I tried to boot Puppy Linux BionicPup64 8.0 based on Ubuntu Bionic x86_64 64-bit and sound works out of the box.

I've "solved" it Linux Mint 19.3 Tricia in a not very good way, keeping automute activated in alsamixer, modifiyng /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/analog-output-headphones.conf and executing a bash script at boot (sonido.sh) with the command "amixer set -c 0 Headphone unmute 100%" in order to prevent the speakers being muted. There are some issues reported to pulseaudio manteiners.
