Thank you for your bug report, updating GTK to a new serie is not
without impact and isn't a change which is going to happen in a stable
update, if you need a newer GTK there is a newer LTS available which
provides it

Bug description:
Since there are no more updates released for gtk+3.22 it is important,
that at least gtk+3.24 is added to ubuntu-18.04 APT.
