Title:
  Ubuntu 11.04 : sound card not detected on VAIO VGN-AR31M

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Hello-

  I am having problems getting my sound card recognized on my Vaio with
  Ubuntu 11.04.

  The audio controller board is recognized by lspci :
  =====================
  lspci -v | grep "Audio device"
  00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition
Audio Controller (rev 02)
  =====================

  But somehow no sound cards ends up being recognized:
  =====================
  cat /proc/asound
  cat: /proc/asound: No such file or directory
  =====================

  I have run the ALSA information script with the following results:

  !!################################
  !!ALSA Information Script v 0.4.60
